The 2019 mHealth Regulation and Compliance Workshop!
The objective of this workshop is to introduce students to the basics of regulation and compliance needed to launch a mHealth product. The purpose of this workshop is to bridge the knowledge gap students from non-health sciences background may have while making healthcare engineering solutions and to empower them with knowledge, toolkits and checklists which help them innovate better and solve real world problems. The workshop is divided into five sections:
Section 1: The instructor will provide an overview of her past mhealth projects.
Section 2: The instructor will discuss the various regulation and compliance systems based on the mhealth projects.
Section 3: Using a checklist, the instructor will walk through mapping regulation and compliance requirements for one mhealth project.
Section 4: The students will map on their own regulation and compliance requirements for one mhealth project.
Section 5: The students will evaluate each other’s regulation and compliance requirements

About the instructor
Namrata Bagaria (MBBS ‘09, MPH ‘10) received her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Mahatma Gandhi Missions’ Medical College, Navi Mumbai, India in 2009 and her Master of Public Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Boston, MA, USA in 2010. She is currently a PhD candidate in Electronic Business under the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of Ottawa. She has 9+ years of entrepreneurial and consulting experience in digital health and has worked and led teams in India, Afghanistan and USA.
