A Day in the Life of: Senior Scientist at OHRI

CREATE-BEST and the MDII are pleased to invite you to the second session of a series of seminars/webinars on the workday of a healthcare / public health professional. During each of these sessions, we invite a guest from the healthcare / public health sector and conduct a live interview with with them. We will ask about their position in the organization, their daily activities, and their job requirements. The session will also allow for an open discussion with our guest for you to ask any questions about their workday!

This session’s guest is Dr. Kumanan Wilson (profile). Dr. Wilson is Senior Scientist and Research Chair in Public Health Innovation at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. He is also Internal Medicine Physician at the Ottawa Hospital & Professor of Medicine at University of Ottawa. He has founded the Ottawa Hospital mHealth Lab, a team of scientists and engineers to develop the CANImmunize App, which is funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada and endorsed by the provinces and territories. CANImmunize is a digital immunization record that helps families keep track of their immunization records.

This activity aims to help attendees understand the workday of a healthcare / public health professional, to get inspired, and to discover potential opportunities for novel technologies to be applied in that work environment.
